Mike Hatch
A graduate of the University of Surrey, Mike became a freelance engineer on leaving University and within a matter of years had built up an impressive client list. Since the formation of the company Mike has made over 1000 recordings and has gained a reputation for quality that is unsurpassed in the business. He has won numerous awards including Gramophone Awards, Grammys and BAFTAS. Mike has become a specialist in large scale orchestral and opera projects both for CD and broadcast.
Steve Long
Having gained a degree in economics, Steve is responsible for the running of the business operations of both Floating Earth and our sister company Signum Records. Steve has established contacts through out all sectors of the music business and oversees business development as well as the day to day running of the company.
Matt Buchanan
Having spent his industrial year placement at Floating Earth, Matt has returned to the company as label manager for the sister company Signum Records. He oversees all aspects of Signum Classics and Signum Vision our CD and DVD labels. Having a broad knowledge of the music business and being an active musician himself, Matt is able to assist in all areas of the groups operation.
Alex Foster
Alex is working for Floating Earth for his industrial placement year from the Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) degree course at the University of Surrey. He works as an assistant engineer to Mike, and is on hand to help with any Floating Earth sessions. Alex also edits with Pyramix in the suites at the offices in Perivale.
Sarah Thwaites
Sarah is responsible for the day to day running of the Floating Earth office and handles all enquiries and bookings. In addition she is the main point of contact for Signum Records, our sister company.
